To be honest I have never, ever spent money on a branded bag. My most expensive bag is some Juicy beach bag which cost me $250usd, which, granted, could probably get me a tiny prada pouch or something, but I could never justify spending so much on luxury items!

And that's why when Reebonz, a discounted luxury brand store, told me they wanted to give me a free bag, I was really quite excited!!

I'm 26 now and all I have in my bag cupboard are 30 dollar bags in bright childish colours. Some of them even have fur -_-. I mean that's great and all but sometimes I have to go to client meetings and I just wanna be taken a bit more seriously!

Ok yes it is still not a "take me seriously" bag but at least it's not old/broken/cheap/"inspired" like my other bags!! LOL

It is super hard to photograph coz it is so attention-getting and SHINY!!

itself either so I can stuff loads of stuff in!

A long time back, Reebonz was interested in an advert but "discounted luxury goods" sounds damn suspicious so I just ignored them, not wanting to the the next Plasticzilla - cheating blog readers of their money and buat bodoh. (PR lesson honey: Give your advertorial money back to victims! Why should you earn money when these people lost hundreds, selfish bitch?)

But Reebonz had its first online sale at March 2009, and it's still standing strong with loads of clients. And what's more, I actually went to their office in Raffles place (quite big somemore!!) so confirm it's legitimate!!

And the stuff they sell are GUARANTEED authentic!!

So what is Reebonz?

Reebonz (pronounced "Ribbons") is a private online shopping destination of premier brands and private sales. The website is for members only, and sale events last for 2-3 days before closing. Besides luxury products, Reebonz also sells spa yacht charters, holiday packages etc. Shipping caters to the whole of Asia Pacific and for Singaporeans, the courier comes at a flat rate of $9.90.

The original price of my bag? $780

Reebonz's price? $539!!

Erm nobody really looks how they accomplish this but they just do!

Congratulations Essential winners!

Woohoo!! Thanks for the awesome response for the Essential contest I posted a few weeks ago!!

We received over a hundred entries (!!) and Huiwen from Nuffnang painstakingly shortlisted a few for me to choose from!

Socialising online shopping!!

Weee!! The whole blogosphere has been abuzz with one thing recently: The launch of

JIPABAN!!!!!!!

Super exciting!!

I know right the name is super hilarious. 'Ji pa ban' is hokkien for 1 million bucks or something. Hao xiao!!

And Jipaban is brought to you by the same folks who gave us Nuffnang. Since Ming is one of them and it was his birthday and also coz Jipaban is awesome, I'm gonna tell ya all more about it!!

We all know that Singapore has A LOT of blogshops. Now I know I stated before that I disliked blogshops coz all their clothes are similar + low quality. But times have changed and as more and more blogshops came along, the worst ones get sieved out and the quality has improved by leaps and bounds. I mean of course there are still shitty ones lah but cannot just discount the good ones coz of them. :)

Now the problem with surfing blogshops... We have to click on so many pages to find out if new collections are launched... Sometimes I just want to see all my favourite blogshops at once, buy 3 dresses from 3 different stores, add them to ONE shopping cart, and pay at one go.

AND NOW I CAN WITH JIPABAN!!

Jipaban is basically an online shopping mall with (currently) 50 blogshops participating in it, including the famous ones like Bonito Chico and Ohsofickle etc, and some are even launching exclusive collections for Jipaban!

Perhaps it's a biz idea that we all hoped will happen one day and now it has. Awesome.

Why so amazing one?? I don't know when shopping started to be so fun - you can add all your friends and kpo what they buying or like... Can even have wishlist to hint hint what you want for your birthday!!

And you can buy what I bought to copy my style!! On hindsight please don't do that. -_-

But if you are the irritating private sort of person you can choose to only show your profile to friends, or no one at all.

3) Egg on or smash

Essential for the last 15 cm

And to take care of those locks...



THE LAST 15 CM IS THE MOST IMPORTANT!!

Why?

- Your "oldest" hair are the ends... They are they are repeatedly dyed/permed/rebonded the most number of times as compared to the rest of your hair, making it look and feel more damaged

- Hair with damage tangles, causing hair to be unruly and ugly!

- Because cutting them is not a long term solution if you want to have long hair!

- Damaged ends will be the one reason you will never dare to go blonde - which everyone should at least once! ;)

- And last but not least, a healthy last 15 cm of your hair will allow you to experiment with MANY FUN HAIRSTYLES!

And if you are wondering why my last 15cm is so awesome despite bleaching it so often, it is because I use Essential's products - Damage care that takes care of hair from root to tip!

And just to demonstrate how important the last 15 cm is, today I'm gonna create 3 different hair styles that are easy and fun to do!!


1) The Double Braid Hair Band

Recommended for girls with longer hair...

First take out some hair as shown... Now tie them into braids for as long as possible!

Very simple... Just flip both braids over your head and pin into place with bobby pins!

And tadah! Here's the end result! Perfect for a movie night (I'm thinking Grecian-styled dress) or even a picnic (checks and a basket- cute)!

As you can kinda see, my hair is not nearly long enough to have the braid tucked all the way at the bottom, so I just had to blend the ends into the side of my head and hope no one notices... If the ends are damaged it will be super obvious and ugly!


2) The Classy Ponytail


Every girl ties a ponytail from time to time but there are ways to make your ponytail stand out!

This style was actually done for my ROM and I LOVED IT! I felt I had perfect hair that day! :D And I even kinda designed it myself. *blush* Not that it's original per se lah but I told my hairstylist exactly what I wanted and it was awesome.

First tie a high ponytail.

Putting out a strand from the bottom, loop it over and over your hair tie, finally pinning it at the bottom again with bobby pins!

Like this!

Now using a curling iron, curl ONLY THE ENDS of your hair!!

Adjust the curl such that they all curl into each other in one big neat curl, and secure with hair spray!

I like how the hair now looks so clean and chic! :)

Needless to say, damaged ends will not make this look work.
If your hair ends are all dry they shouldn't even be subjected to a
curling tong!

3) Fish tail braids with a twist


I've shown how to do fish tail braids on Guide to Life before but they are so cute I thought I'd share how to do it on a blog post instead. And this time, I added a pink clip-on hair extension to one of the braids!

Separating hair into two. You don't have to do that if you only want one braid.

Further separate hair into another two bunches - Let's call them A and B.

From the back of A, take some hair and loop around B to put at the front of A...

Like this...



From the front it should look like that!

Now from the back of B take some hair to loop around A.



And it looks like that!

Fairly simple... Sorry if I sound confusing... If you don't get it you can watch youtube tutorial videos. :)

AND DONE!!! I love the beach look :D
